Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Ask the Greats, a service operated by 7labs, collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Overview
We collect the minimum information needed to provide AI-generated conversations with persona chatbots, manage your account and credits, process payments, and keep the service safe from abuse. We do not sell your personal data.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information. Email address and display name supplied through our identity provider, Clerk, when you sign up or sign in.
- Conversation data. The persona you select, the messages you send, and the AI-generated replies returned to you. We use this to render your chat history and to deliver new replies.
- Credit balance and usage. Your credit balance and a record of credit consumption, maintained on the shared PicShift credits backend that also powers PicShift AI.
- Payment metadata. Order ID, payment ID, package purchased, amount, and currency. Card details are handled directly by Razorpay; we do not store card numbers, CVVs, or full bank details.
- Feedback you submit. Any messages or tickets you send through our feedback feature.
- Technical logs. IP address, user agent, request timestamps, and similar metadata, used for security, rate limiting, and debugging.
3. How We Use Information
- To deliver replies, render chat history, and operate core features of the service.
- To process credit purchases and reflect balance changes against your account.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
- To respond to support requests and feedback you send.
- To improve the service — for example, by reviewing aggregate usage patterns and addressing bugs.
4. Language Model Providers
To generate replies, we send your messages and persona context to third-party language model providers, currently Anthropic and OpenAI. Your inputs are subject to the data-handling policies of those providers. We do not authorize them to train their general models on your data beyond what their default API terms permit, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary to run the service: an authentication session managed by Clerk, and lightweight preferences (such as your chosen theme). We do not use third-party advertising or marketing trackers.
6. Data Retention
Account information and chat history are retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, your chat history is removed and any remaining credits are forfeited. Payment and tax records may be retained for the period required by applicable financial regulations even after account deletion.
7. Your Rights
You can request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us at the address below. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or comparable regulations; we will honour valid requests to the extent required by law.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over TLS. Authentication credentials are managed by Clerk and never stored on our servers in plaintext. We restrict access to production data to a small number of maintainers. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Ask the Greats is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
Our infrastructure providers (including Cloudflare, Anthropic, and OpenAI) may process data in countries other than the one you are located in. By using the service, you understand that your information may be transferred internationally to deliver replies and operate the platform.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date below. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.
